What You Need to Know Before You Execute Your Social Media Marketing Plan

When starting into the world of Facebook pay-per-click marketing, if you don’t know exactly what you’re doing, even when you get your advertisements approved, you can still get completely mugged with definitely nothing to show for it.

Inside is a cautionary tale of one guy (read: me) who used a crappy, incomplete social media marketing plan to get leads fast for his home based business, and actually got them … but at what expense?

Right here’s the big complication: even if people like your ad … even if they click on it for more information … even when they like what they see so much that they decide to opt in to your capture page … there is still a massive chance that no matter how numerous of those leads you get, there is still a very real chance that you will still end up with precisely no sales, and therefore absolutely no dollars, in your bank account, leaving you with nothing but a fat bill payable to Facebook.

For a man just starting out with his very first, and really flawed, social media marketing plan most skilled veterans of the business would’ve thought about the quantity of leads that I got to be catastrophically low. But for me, it was a full-on triumph. Due to the fact that all it would’ve taken for me to recover any loss on any of my marketing up to that point would have been just one sale.

The capture web page and sales funnel were created by two of the very best, most engaging humans in the online marketing game. There was no way I couldn’t out of all of that, at least get ONE SALE to make it all valuable … or so I thought. After all the action, after all of the pleasure, after all was said and done, not one single person who saw the info actually pulled out their credit card and got anything that I was offering. I was gravely irritated and baffled.

A Social Media Marketing Plan I SHOULD ‘VE Followed From the Beginning After pouting, shrieking, and crying like a 7 year old girl (okay, not really, but I was still mad, dammit) I spoke to my buddy & business partner Morgan, and he set out for me an absolutely solid social media marketing plan to actually entice the people who will actually buy what it is I’m selling … by actually targeting a more … well, targeted group.

Right here’s the social media marketing plan he laid out for me:

1. Target less than 2,000 people My special self was targeting over 120,000 people from I think 6 different countries. I didn’t care as long as they were from a place that spoke English. Oops …

2. Target one group at a time, i.e. People who such as Richard Branson, NOT people who such as 5 different gurus – I broke this guideline extremely, very hard. In retrospect, thinking I was being incredibly discerning I targeted people who were kinda in the exact same particular niche, but not really. D’oh, once more.

3. If your one target has a lot of fans, break them out into as numerous groups as possible based off of age and/or gender to get the number down to under 2,000 Do every little thing needed to get that demographic number as close to 2,000 as feasible. The smaller the group you have, the much easier it gets to test different specific audiences when you’re finished with the first run, so you can see who best replied to your advertisement.

This helps for a couple factors:

1. Less people clicking your advertisements that have serve no purpose besides ensuring they assist you provide as much cash to Facebook as possible …

2. More exposure to the same people. Usually it takes around 7 exposures for somebody to actually take sufficient notice to pay attention to what you have to offer.

4. Split test the images, THEN split test the text – Do not split test them both at the same time. Again, how do you understand what IS and IS NOT working is you change multiple things at once?

I had not made it to this point when my pal coached me, but good words to obey.

5. If the ad falls to.1 or under, kill it At that particular point in time only one of my ads ever made it this high. Once again, when coming up with and executing a social media marketing plan, I was a total noob.

6. Wash, Rinse, Repeat This undoubtedly requires no explanation.

BONUS! Pay close attention to who is responding best to your ad – If Females, age 40-51 are clicking the most, then go find more of those women …

If you have actually not done anything with any kind of social media marketing plan, then this checklist is certainly a great starting point. I have tossed many a dollar at Facebook and came out empty handed because I didn’t understand these simple, basic things. Do not make the blunders I made. Take this list and with newfound confidence promote the hell out of whatever it is that you’re offering, with a little less uncertainty than you might have had before.
